Understanding the Issues

Many schools are already helping their students and staff protect their personal safety when on-line. There are many programs available to help, including CoSN’s own “Safeguarding the Wired School House” and the national clearinghouse of material available through the National Cyber Security Alliance.

Cyber Security is the next step in the process. Security focuses on keeping the network environment safe and functional so that technology can continue to support the district’s educational priorities. Cyber Security is about keeping the overall system free from attacks and preparing to limit the damage while maintaining operations continuity should something go wrong despite your efforts.
